Product Description

Magnesium oxide granular are a form of magnesium oxide (MgO) that has been processed

into a granular form for ease of handling and application. This material retains many of the

properties of magnesium oxide while providing certain benefits associated with its granulated

state.

Overview of Magnesium Oxide Granules:

1. Physical Properties:

  • Appearance: Typically white or off-white granules.
  • Size: The granule size can vary, usually ranging from a few microns to several millimeters,
  • which helps in optimizing the rate of dissolution and application.

2. Production:

  • Magnesium oxide granules are produced through the calcination of magnesium carbonate
  • (MgCO₃) or magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)₂) at high temperatures, similar to caustic calcined
  • magnesia. The granulation process may involve binding agents or specialized machinery to c
  • reate uniform granules.

3. Chemical Properties:

  • Highly basic and reactive with acids, forming magnesium salts.
  • Low solubility in water, making it suitable for controlled-release applications in agriculture and
  • other fields.

Applications of Magnesium oxide granular:

Agriculture: Used as a soil amendment to supply magnesium, an essential nutrient for plant

growth. It helps correct magnesium deficiencies in the soil.

Construction: Incorporated in cement and concrete formulations to improve strength and durability;

also used in fire-resistant applications.

Environmental: Utilized in water treatment processes to neutralize acidity, as well as in waste

treatment for heavy metal removal.

Industrial: Serve as an antacid in pharmaceuticals and food products, as well as a filler in various

chemical and manufacturing processes.

Magnesite is one of the main sources of magnesium oxide granular, (MgO) content of about

47%, MgCO3 after light calcination (400 ~ 600 ℃) calcined and then ground into a solid

powder (Mgo) . The ore source is widely spread in Liaoning, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Shandong,

Tibet and other provinces and autonomous regions, with a reserve of 2.8 billion tons, accounting

for 30% of the world's ore source.
